City Leaders Gathering Recap

On June 13th, KBRITE attended Love Costa Mesa’s City Leaders Gathering at Watermark OC.
More than 50 leaders joined together to discuss ways to get our city of Costa Mesa, more involved in prayer in the community.

Special guest speaker, Pastor Mike Maiolo of Mission Viejo Church shared how he implements prayer at the church he leads and in his personal life on a day-to-day basis. He highlighted the importance of a church being impactful to the community around it by its prayer culture. He encouraged all leaders towards an increase of value for united prayer in and for the city. Pastor Mike spoke on what he does in the community and how to best connect with other local pastors and leaders. He brings them all together for prayer by building a genuine relationship/ friendship with them first.

Here’s the takeaway. Knowing your neighbors by name and sharing what’s happening in our lives with full transparency helps make real connections with one another. It holds us accountable for our actions and brings us closer together. Prayer makes a difference. It is one of the most important things we can do to grow our relationship with Christ and our communities. Pastor Mike says, “Live with conviction. Let the Holy Spirit ooze out and have an activist-oriented spirit. Be doer, pastors.”

He mentioned that through a friendship that he formed with Ian Stevenson, Love Costa Mesa and Trellis; God has opened a new door for a prayer initiative to take place at Mission Viejo Church. United Mission Viejo on October 12th, 2024. Will we see you there?
